01  Overview 

CVS is the largest drug retailer in the United States, operating over 5,400 retail pharmacies and specialty drug stores in 36 states and the District of Columbia in the US. During its continuous expansion, CVS's suppliers have spread globally and it has begun to place greater emphasis on supply chain management. What we now call CVS factory inspection actually consists of three independent audits: social responsibility, counter-terrorism, and quality. The human rights factory inspection of CVS is relatively stricter compared to ordinary social responsibility audits. The auditing party is UL and there is usually a one to two-week window period. 

02 CVS Social Responsibility Audit Score 

◆ 0-40 points (extremely serious), no shipment is allowed. The violation items must be resolved through CAPA within 40 days, and a re-examination is required within 30-90 days;

◆ 41-60 points, shipment is allowed. The violation items must be resolved through CAPA within 30 days, and a re-examination is required within 3-6 months;

◆ 61-80 points, shipment is allowed. Scores between 61 and 73, the violation items must be resolved through CAPA within 30 days; scores between 74 and 80, no CAPA follow-up is required, and a re-examination is needed within 6-9 months;

◆ 81-100 points, the best result, no CAPA follow-up is required, annual review. 

03 Special Reminder 

If the score is 73 or below, the supplier will be placed on the "At Risk" list. If the supplier remains on this list, it will affect the business dealings between CVS. If an enterprise continuously scores below 40 for three consecutive times, its account will be frozen for one year, and all unpaid orders will be cancelled. 

The most complicated and challenging part of CVS is submitting the CAP online. The entire process is complex and cumbersome, and it typically takes about one to two months to complete the normal processing.
