Factory audit

Muse Factory Inspection is an assessment and evaluation conducted by Muse Co., Ltd. on suppliers or cooperative factories, aiming to ensure that they meet the standards and requirements of Muse in terms of quality management, safety production, and social responsibility. 

▌Inspection Content: 

Quality Management: Musashi has strict requirements for product quality. They will review the quality management system of the factories, such as whether they have obtained relevant certifications like ISO9001. At the same time, they will examine the inspection processes of raw materials, manufacturing processes, and finished products, such as testing the tensile strength of the springs in the mattresses and conducting 30,000 rolling tests on the finished products in the sleep center area to ensure that the products meet high-quality standards. 

Safety Production and Environmental Management: Inspect the production environment and safety facilities of the factory to ensure they comply with relevant standards, such as whether the fire-fighting facilities are complete, and whether the ventilation and lighting in the working area are adequate. We will also pay attention to the environmental protection measures of the factory, assessing whether they meet the standards in waste disposal and pollutant emissions, and whether they comply with the requirements of the ISO14001 environmental management system. 

Social Responsibility: Musashi has undergone BSCI audits, indicating that it places great importance on social responsibility. During factory inspections, the focus is on whether the factory complies with laws and regulations, whether it safeguards the legitimate rights and interests of employees, such as whether there are child laborers, forced labor, whether the working hours of employees are reasonable, and whether necessary labor protection measures are provided. 

▌The significance of the factory inspection: 

For Mus, conducting factory inspections enables the selection of high-quality suppliers, ensuring the quality of raw materials and products, and safeguarding the brand image. For suppliers, passing Mus' factory inspection means gaining recognition, which helps establish long-term partnerships, obtain more business opportunities, and also enhances their own management level and industry competitiveness. 

Authentication process 

Initial meeting: The audit team introduces the purpose, schedule and operation methods of the factory inspection, lists the required document list, explains the details of the on-site inspection and employee interviews, and answers the questions raised by the factory representatives. 

On-site audit: The auditors conducted on-site inspections of production sites, warehouses, etc., to examine the maintenance and operation status of equipment, as well as the working environment, to ensure compliance with the audit standards set by Mus. 

Document review: Review the factory's documents and records, including employee wage and working hours records, employee information, production records, etc. Usually, it is required to keep the latest 12 months of data, and the last 3 months must meet the requirements. 

Employee Interview: Select employees from the site and personnel records for independent interviews to understand their actual working conditions. The factory representatives are not allowed to interfere. 

Audit Summary Meeting: The auditor issues a temporary audit report, summarizes the identified issues and improvement directions in the factory, and decides whether to conduct a follow-up audit based on the severity of the problems.
