Supplier Audit

WRC， The Workers' Rights Alliance is an independent labor rights monitoring organization that mainly focuses on whether the production of clothing and other products sold in the United States is humane and whether workers' rights are protected. WRC pays special attention to the manufacturing of products bearing the logos of universities or colleges. WRC conducts independent and in-depth investigations into factories producing famous brands and publicly releases investigation reports. At the same time, WRC stops factories from infringing on workers' rights and encourages workers to defend their legitimate rights and interests. WRC was established in 2001, and its management committee includes members from university management, labor rights experts, and activists from the Anti Sweatshop Student Alliance. At present, WRC has over 150 member universities, including some high schools.

WRC precautions

A. The following rules apply to all authorized manufacturers.

B. Authorized manufacturers must comply with the provisions of this code in order to be licensed to manufacture or sell authorized products. Authorized manufacturers must demonstrate compliance with the requirements of this code to WRC within 6 months (or other corresponding provisions of the authorization contract) after receiving the production code.

WRC compliance and information disclosure

Authorized manufacturers (themselves and on behalf of their suppliers, subcontractors, or manufacturers) shall disclose the following information in areas A, B, and C to WRC, universities, and the public.

A. When signing and updating authorization contracts and adopting new authorized product manufacturers, the following information should be disclosed: company name, contact person, address, phone number, email, nature of the factory producing the authorized product, etc.

B. At least 60 days before the expiration of each authorization contract, the authorized manufacturer shall submit a written guarantee:

(1) Comply with the requirements of production regulations;

(2) Reasonable measures are being taken to rectify factories that do not meet the requirements of the regulations.

C. At least 60 days before the expiration of each authorization contract, the authorized manufacturer shall submit a summary report:

(1) Specific plan for rectifying discrepancies in the overview;

(2) The difficulties foreseen in implementing the code of conduct in all factories producing authorized products in the coming year.
