Factory audit

NIKE Corporation is headquartered in Portland, Oregon, USA. The company produces a wide range of sports goods, such as clothing, sports equipment, etc. NIKE is a globally renowned sports brand, originally referring to the Greek goddess of victory in English and translated as Nike in Chinese.

Nike designs, produces, and sells sports and fitness products. At every step of this process, we not only need to do our best to abide by laws and regulations, but also strive to do what a leader should do. We expect our partners to also achieve this.

Nike also requires its partners to follow the following guidelines and fully implement and continuously improve them:

1. Respect the rights of all employees in management practice, including their right to freedom of association and collective bargaining.

2. Minimize the impact on the environment as much as possible.

3. Provide a safe and healthy working environment.

4. Improve the hygiene and welfare conditions of employees.

NIKE factory inspection is mainly divided into six steps:

1. First meeting

① Introduce the purpose, methods, schedule, and division of work of the audit.

② List of documents and materials that need to be reviewed

③ Explain the methods and requirements for worker interviews

④ Answer the questions raised by the factory representative

2. Factory Visit

① Understand the basic situation of the factory, including the factory building, personnel, dormitories, etc

② Familiarize yourself with the route and understand the key points

3. Inspection of documents and records

① Various required documents and materials (such as regulations prohibiting the use of child labor, regulations prohibiting discrimination, etc.)

② Check the records for the past 12 months, and ensure that the last 3 months meet the requirements of ICTI

4. On site inspection

① Including production workshops, warehouses, dormitories, canteens, restrooms, security guards, medical rooms, etc. 

② Focus on the three principles of ICTI

③ Understand the production situation and record workers' activities on site

④ If necessary, photos may be taken

5. Worker interviews

① Random selection

② Suspected age

③ Factory representatives are not allowed to attend and will be held in a separate room

④ It could be one-on-one, or it could be a one-on-one group

6. Last meeting

① Provide an interim report to decide whether to recommend or not

② Official report issued within 10 days

③ Thank you for your cooperation with the factory

④ Answer the questions raised by the factory
