The Home Depot, founded in 1978, is the world's largest furniture and building materials retailer and the second largest retailer in the United States. The company's business covers the entire United States, Canada, and Mexico. Home Depot expects all suppliers to comply with applicable international or local laws and regulations when producing and distributing goods or providing services to Home Depot. Home Depot actively encourages all suppliers to operate according to Home Depot's requirements or higher, and continuously promotes operational improvement. It also requires all suppliers to comply with the relevant provisions of Home Depot's social and environmental responsibility standards.
On March 13, 2017, Home Depot and Lowe's jointly developed an audit template called Retailer Ethical Sourcing Audit (RESA), which was officially launched; Replacing the previous social responsibility standards of Home Depot and Lowe's, which means that factories only need to pass RESA factory audits to meet the social responsibility requirements of Home Depot and Lowe's, reducing the additional cost of duplicate audits for using the same factory.
