I. IKEA Factory Inspection Process
(1) Pre-Review Preparation
Before the formal review, the supplier needs to make necessary preparations, such as ensuring the provision of relevant documents, and having the relevant personnel involved in the review (as required by IKEA) present at the factory and available for interviews at any time.
(2) Initial Meeting
Before the IWAY audit begins, an initial meeting must be held with the IWAY auditor and the supplier's management or representatives.
(3) On-site Audit
The auditor will visit the site accompanied by the supplier's representative, and the auditor will conduct brief interviews with the employees at the production site. In addition, the auditor will inspect fire equipment or evacuation bells, test pollutant emissions or noise, and check maintenance records, etc.
(4) Document Audit
The auditor will review relevant documents, such as government department licenses, training records, chemical lists, etc. The auditor will also review records related to employee wages and working hours.
(5) Employee Interview
The employee interview is an essential part of the IWAY audit. The findings and observation results during the audit can be verified through interviews.
(6) Closing Meeting
A meeting attended by the factory's management will be held before the end of the audit to summarize the audit results.
(7) Audit Report
The parts that need improvement identified during the IWAY audit will be presented in written report form.
II. IKEA Factory Inspection Document Review Checklist
(1) Work cards or attendance records, payrolls, personnel rosters, employee personal files, and labor contracts
(2) Social insurance receipts, rosters, and qualification certificates, etc.
(3) Business license, factory regulations or employee handbook, factory floor plan
(4) Fire inspection reports or certificates of compliance, fire drill records, emergency evacuation plans and injury records
(5) Environmental protection certification documents, government documents related to local minimum wage regulations
(6) Equipment safety license, special workers' on-the-job certification
(7) Other documents (depending on the requirements of the review process)
