BCU, which stands for NBC Universal Universal Studios, is also known as the "Minions". The factory audits conducted by this company are aimed at ensuring that the production factories meet certain requirements in terms of ethics, human rights, environmental protection, and labor regulations, in order to avoid reputational risks and legal disputes caused by unethical behavior or violations of regulations in the supply chain. 

The requirements of NBCU's factory inspection usually cover the following aspects:

1. Ethics and compliance: The inspection requires factories to abide by all applicable national and international laws, including labor laws, trade laws, human rights laws, and environmental protection laws, etc. Additionally, factories must also comply with the ethical standards of Universal Studios and Universal Television, including requirements regarding the treatment of employees, environmental protection, and sustainable development, among others.

2. Labor regulations: The inspection requires factories to comply with all applicable labor regulations, including working hours, wages, rest days, safety and health regulations. Factories need to provide legal labor contracts to ensure that employees receive reasonable wages and benefits, and comply with the regulations on working hours and overtime in labor laws.

3. Human rights: The inspection requires factories to respect the human rights of employees, including freedom of speech, freedom of association, freedom of peaceful assembly, and the right to strike. Factories need to comply with the core conventions of the International Labor Organization, including eliminating forced labor, abolishing child labor, freedom of association and collective bargaining rights, etc.

4. Environment: The inspection requires factories to comply with all applicable environmental regulations and take necessary measures to reduce their impact on the environment. This includes reducing waste emissions, lowering energy consumption, using sustainable packaging and materials, etc.

5. Supply chain management: The inspection requires factories to manage their supply chains and ensure that all suppliers meet NBCU's inspection requirements. Factories need to review their suppliers and ensure that they comply with all applicable laws and ethical standards.

6. Records and reporting: The inspection requires factories to keep all necessary records and reports, so that they can be subject to audits and inspections at any time. These records and reports include employee wage records, working hours records, health and safety records, etc.

7. Rectification and improvement: If factories find any non-compliance issues during the inspection, the inspection team will require factories to rectify and improve. Factories need to take necessary measures to solve the problems and ensure that these issues do not recur. 

What is the determination result of the NBCU factory inspection? 

The inspection issues of NBCU are classified into three types: black flag, red flag and yellow flag. The black flag is the most serious. If there are any violations such as child labor or prison labor, the factory will be disqualified from cooperation. The red flag - all red flag violations must be improved or downgraded within 90 days after the audit. The yellow flag - all yellow flag violations must be improved before the next audit. The final score determines the frequency of subsequent audits. Those with a score below 85 will have audits conducted once every 12 months, while those with a score of 85 or above will have audits conducted every 18 to 24 months. 

How does the NBCU review board make its selection? 

The NBCU review arrangement: So far, we haven't seen any cases where factories are required to pay review fees. Additionally, NBCU and USJ inspections usually have their own designated review agencies, which are not the well-known companies we often encounter. For enterprises that adopt the NBCU inspection standards, they cannot choose the review agency themselves; instead, it is randomly designated by the client.
