Background of EN 1090 Certification Services 

Starting from July 1, 2014, the certification standard EN 1090 for steel (aluminum) structure manufacturing enterprises has been mandatory in EU countries. The original German steel structure enterprise certification standard DIN 18800-7 has been replaced by EN 1090, which has taken the place of DIN 18800-7 and has become the mandatory inspection requirement for steel structure exports to the EU. 

For steel structure enterprises that aim to enter the European market, the EN 1090 certificate is their sole entry permit into Europe. This standard classifies steel (aluminum) structure products into 4 certification levels based on the risk coefficient, service category, and manufacturing category of the steel (aluminum) structure. It also includes more requirements such as raw materials, bolt fastening, anti-corrosion, and painting.

1. Confirmation of EN 1090 Design Drawings 

II. Review of document and data in accordance with EN 1090 standard

1. ISO 3834 quality system documents

2. Organizational chart of management institution (in both Chinese and English)

3. Relevant information of welding responsible personnel

4. Appointment letter of welding responsible personnel (or confirmation letter for part-time personnel and contract)

5. Review of certification product drawings

6. Audit of welding processes and welding qualifications

7. Audit of relevant documents of work test pieces
